On Listening...

I was brushing Abi's hair on Thursday morning. She said, "Don't spray my hair." (We use a detangler).
I said, "I won't," and continued brushing.
Abi said a little louder, "I said don't."
"I didn't spray it," I replied.

Turning so that she could look me in the eye so that I would understand how serious she was, she slowly said, "When I say 'DON'T,' I mean do not do that."

I stopped.
